As only the second Catholic to ever be nominated for national office by Republicans, Ryan all-but locks in the devout white Catholic vote. While Romney steers the argument over big business regulations and governmental power, his political antithesis – a career politician – is being sent in to hammer away at the Right’s Biblical sensibilities.
Beginning today, women insured under their employers’ plans will “have access to the full range of the Institute of Medicine’s recommended preventive services, including all FDA -approved forms of contraception.” As the majority of religious organizations throughout the world have a seeming love/hate relationship with the notion of sex – combined with the dastardly concept of women’s rights and empowerment – the socially conservative Right is still unsuccessfully trying to wrap its collective head around this one.

Mama Grizzly herself joins other famed conservatives in support of the Chick-fil-A organization; a fast food chain that has donated millions of dollars to anti-gay organizations, including “reparative therapy” groups. As such companies tend to dominate our national culture, what does this say about us on a larger scale?
Right wing extremism caters to the impressionable who choose not to understand history, science and culture. In a country that is supposed to be leading the world in education, cultural and religious diversity, intellectual advancement and scientific discovery, we continually allow this incessant garbage to dominate and threaten our national dialogue.
The Right’s insistence of a fictional war on Christianity via contraception coverage is yet another unchecked effort to trick Right wing America that – once again – boogeyman Obama is out to get them and their fetuses while male politicians’ grip on women’s bodies is reluctantly loosening.
Instead of properly invoking the premises of small localized governments, fiscal responsibility and personal freedoms, the new Republican party uses/abuses these notions to thinly veil more sinister “plots” rooted in centuries’ old racism, ideology and bigotry.

Republican Governor and presidential candidate Rick Perry is catching some heat for recent televised debate comments over his apparent big-brother-ish assault on American citizens’ free will while also going against the mantra of sexual anti-recognition (or the idea that young people in this country do not have sex).
It appears that this week’s earthquake on the nation’s east coast had one noticeable upside: it brought the religious crazies on every side closer together. Oddly enough, true believers still can’t agree on just who the Big Guy is mad at.
