With all the hoopla recently of the GOP placing the plight of social-conservatism ahead of real issues affecting the country on which they actually campaigned in 2010, Gingrich has a “cross to bear”, so to speak, as he needs to win over the burgeoning, empowered hordes of religious Right-wing-dom.
As if “Happy Holidays” wasn’t bad enough, Bible thumpers across America are up in arms over what they see now as the “War on Easter” – liberal secularists trying to destroy Christianity one brightly-colored egg at a time.

With the 2012 election campaigns ready for kickoff, Republican contenders are ramping up their base by playing “who can be the most socially conservative and fundamentally religious” against each other, despite the fact that the real issues facing the country – jobs, economy, security, health – have nothing to do with “social” ideas like gay marriage and Planned Parenthood.
In an effort to create a meaningless, fact-less squabble based on the ill-conceived theory of a “War on Christmas,” many are ignoring the history behind the holiday and its apparent mistreatment through modern times in order to partake in some sort of lazy-man’s Christian martyrdom.
According to the common douche-baggery of the Religious Right, environmentalism is the root of all evil. Due to its “long history of believing and promoting exaggerations and myths,” it is invading homes, indoctrinating schools and robbing the young of their free will.
