An outlandish scheme by southern Tea Party groups to edit textbooks mirrors an overwhelmingly rampant sentiment that has existed in the nation since the launch of “manifest destiny”; forget about the cruel, unjust means that got us here – as long as we revel in the enormity of our own self-indulged “goodness”, we can leave the bad stuff out of the books.

The class warfare waged by the GOP has launched another mortar attack against the majority of the country – the “People” whom the Constitution was meant to protect – that are now made to sacrifice for decades to come to fend off the swelling deficits overtaking our shores.

This country cannot afford to put the power of Congress back in the hands of those that ruined the economy in the first place. Regardless of their rhetoric, the Republican Party has offered nothing other than blocking every attempt they possibly could by President Obama in an ill-willed agenda to force the new President to fail.
